Role Overview

The Disability Management Coordinator will review workers' compensation claims to determine feasibility and eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services. The role involves working with employers, injured workers, medical providers, and claims staff to identify candidates for rehabilitation. The coordinator will review vocational rehabilitation plans to ensure adherence with state and Federal laws, policies, rules, and regulations.

What You Will Do

The Disability Management Coordinator will authorize payment and extension of living maintenance based on review of vocational rehabilitation plans. They will recommend and authorize Living Maintenance Wage Loss of Injured Workers. The coordinator will communicate with injured workers, employers, providers, and claims staff about vocational rehabilitation services in written and verbal forms.

To qualify, you must clearly demonstrate a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to disability management, one year of experience as a vocational rehabilitation field case manager, and valid certification as a certified rehabilitation counselor or certified disability management specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to disability management
  • One year of experience as a vocational rehabilitation field case manager
  • Valid certification as a certified rehabilitation counselor or certified disability management specialist
  • Valid drivers license
  • Knowledge of at least seven areas related to vocational rehabilitation
  • Valid certification as a certified case manager by the Commission for Case Manager Certification
