Role Overview

The Disability Retirement Case Counselor provides informational support and counseling to members of the State Employees' Retirement System regarding all aspects of the accidental and ordinary disability retirement application process. The role involves processing disability retirement applications, counseling members, and understanding related benefits.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include participating in all aspects of the processing of disability retirement applications, sending and receiving applications, entering data into computer systems, creating case summaries, and counseling members. The role also involves conducting factual investigations, obtaining required documentation, and drafting case summaries for submission at monthly Board meetings.

Requirements
