Job Description

Distribution Design Specialist role at HDR involves applying client and company policies to develop work order designs for electrical distribution facilities, preparing work orders and job packages, and creating designs using client work management systems and design tools. The role requires effective communication, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm and more than 2 years of Distribution Design experience. Required qualifications include an Associate's degree in engineering or a related field, a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Requirements

Apply client and company policies and procedures
Prepare work orders and job packages
Create and design work orders
Identify standard overhead and underground distribution facilities
Field data activities and collection
Utilize technology tools such as laser range finder, digital camera, and cellular signal meter tool
Organize and document collected field data
Coordinate with client construction personnel and client/customer
Communicate effectively with client and/or end use customers
Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures
Lead, mentor, train, and provide technical support for teammates
Develop positive working relationships with client and teammates
Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
