Job Description
Performs a variety of assignments requiring a high degree of knowledge in the mechanical field as a full-time hourly position reporting to the Distribution Supervisor in Boston, MA. This position is a member of the Bargaining Unit Member of the IUOE, Local 877.

Requirements

  • Performs welding and burning operations.
  • Performs Shop and Field repair of Carbon steel pipe in accordance with the requirements of ASME B31.1 code for pressure piping.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (SR drawings)
  • Thorough understanding of properties of steam.
  • Ability to locate all system manholes & MLVS.
  • Thorough understanding of the repair and principles of operation for: pumping devices, valves, PRVS, traps, piping systems, expansion joints, anchors.
  • Must be proficient at pipefitting.
  • Assist in training other Mechanic 2s and Welders.
  • Assist others as required.
  • All other related duties.
