Role Overview

The District Legislative Aide will assist the Senator with administrative and public relations matters, requiring a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, and operating practices of the Florida Legislature. The employee will perform various routine and non-routine tasks following clearly defined standardized practices.

What You Will Do

Assists in managing a district office, serves as a liaison for constituents, responds to inquiries, performs research, attends local functions, maintains the supervisor's calendar, prepares and distributes press releases, and reviews correspondence.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The successful candidate will be assigned to work from the Senator's Broward County District Office and travel to Tallahassee for the Legislative Session. Attorneys are encouraged to apply, and preference will be given to applicants with a background in the political and legislative process and in communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • One year of administrative experience
  • Professional or non-professional administrative experience can substitute for the required college education
