Role OverviewWe are seeking a forward-thinking Division Survey Engineer to direct and coordinate all survey operations within Division 9, ensuring alignment across teams while leading a staff of engineers and technicians and serving as the primary liaison for Construction, Utilities, District Operations, Maintenance, and Project Development.
What You Will Do
As the Division Survey Engineer, you will provide leadership and oversight of the Division Survey Unit, supervise, coach, and support lower-level engineers and survey technicians, and serve as the Division’s independent subject matter expert and final QA/QC authority for all in-house and consultant survey deliverables.

This role requires experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision, customer service experience related to resolving problems that involve explaining engineering concepts to various customer groups, and considerable knowledge of principles of civil engineering as it relates to the design, construction, and maintenance of the highway system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience
- Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor and/or Professional Engineer by NC Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
