Role OverviewThe Richmond County District Attorney's Office is seeking an experienced Assistant District Attorney to serve as the Domestic Violence Deputy Bureau Chief. The selected candidate will supervise and manage the Domestic Violence Bureau, reviewing and assigning cases, and training on witness preparation and Grand Jury practice. The role requires a high-level felony caseload, and the candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The position is full-time, in-person, and requires a New York State resident.
What You Will Do
The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising the complaint room, assisting with screening of new cases, reviewing complaints, charges, and thorough investigation and paperwork by NYPD. They will also review, assign, and confer with misdemeanor and felony ADAs, and maintain a high-level felony caseload within the Domestic Violence Bureau. The candidate will attend meetings with NYPD, the Family Justice Center, and other agencies, and act as a liaison on policy and specific issues.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least 6-10 years of experience in prosecuting felonies, strong analytical, organizational, written, and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will also have supervisory experience and foreign language skills, and be able to maintain a high-level felony caseload within the Domestic Violence Bureau.
