Job Description
Performs advanced laboratory evidence technician duties, including receiving, storing, returning, and/or destroying crime evidence items according to court orders or applicable statutes. Assists laboratory personnel with inventory, disposition, and destruction of evidence stored in laboratory vaults.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/equivalent required
  • Minimum of six (6) months progressively responsible experience in a business or laboratory environment recording data, transferring items, conducting inventory, weighing materials, and receiving/filing items for analysis or minimum of six (6) months progressively responsible experience in a law enforcement environment, preferably handling evidence (receipt, destruction, inventory, etc.)
  • Substitution Note: Successful completion of fifteen (15) hours or more of college coursework in Criminal Justice or Forensic Science
