Job Description
This is a DPS-DLD-DL Supervisor position in Texas-Austin. The job involves highly complex supervisory, administrative, and technical work to accomplish assigned objectives related to program operations of the Driver License Division. The supervisor will plan, assign, and supervise the work of others, develop program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations, and monitor, coordinate, and evaluate program activities. Weekend work and extended hours may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business management or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience in office management or in administration of government or business programs.
  • One (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver license from state of residence.
  • Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory methods and principles, performance and productivity standards, and fiscal/budget management.
  • Ability to develop plans, policies, and procedures for efficient workflow and overall effectiveness, and provide clear direction to subordinates; promote teamwork and be able to motivate others to accomplish goals.
