Job Description
The Security Specialist will perform highly complex and proactive security enforcement to protect life and property in support of commissioned officers. The role involves overseeing, monitoring, and patrolling grounds, receiving visitors, inspecting and safeguarding state and court buildings, properties, and equipment, directing traffic, and issuing tickets.

Requirements

  • Monitor and operate visitor screening equipment
  • Operate the Region's Emergency Operations Center display boards, camera systems, unmanned aerial system feeds, social media accounts, and radio communications equipment
  • Patrol assigned areas for security violations, guard against theft and mischief, and respond to alarms/calls for service or assistance
  • Oversee and authorize entrance and departures of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain safety and security of state premises
  • Observe, recognize, describe, and identify suspicious persons and notify DPS Monitor Rooms or DPS Communications for appropriate response(s)
