Role Overview

The Driver License Examiner 1 oversees driver and motor vehicle licensing and registration, making services more convenient, efficient, and cost-effective. This role involves conducting examinations of applicants for vehicle operator's licenses, instructing applicants in maneuvers, and administering driving tests. The examiner evaluates and grades applicants' abilities to drive and utilizes BMV computer systems to enter applicant information and administer knowledge tests.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires a valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License, 1 course or 3 months of experience in human/public relations, and the ability to maintain a valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, provide excellent customer service, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes calculating fractions, decimals, and percentages and in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in human/public relations
  • Valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License
  • 21 years of age per Section 4507.05 (A) (2) (B)
