Driver Light Vehicles

The light vehicles driver transports people and goods in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations and national traffic laws. The driver interacts mainly with logistics staff and other ICRC employees, and externally with people related to their work, e.g. fuel stations, workshops. The driver must understand and adhere to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the ICRC Code of Conduct, and the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

What You Will Do

The driver's main day-to-day responsibilities include transporting people and/or goods, delivering mail or goods as requested, providing assistance to passengers as needed, informing the radio room about time of departure and return to the base, ensuring the vehicle is parked in a safe area, and respecting ICRC internal security rules. The driver must also ensure the vehicle is refueled in time, drive in a manner that minimizes fuel consumption, and maintain the vehicle in good condition.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience working with international organizations or NGOs, a valid commercial driving license, and experience in general vehicle mechanics. The candidate must also have basic English language proficiency, a secondary school diploma or equivalent, and a commitment to road safety regulations and organizational policies.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with international organizations or NGOs
• Valid commercial driving license
• Valid driving license with a good driving record
• Experience in general vehicle mechanics
• Basic English language proficiency (approximately 40% or equivalent working knowledge)
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Commitment to road safety regulations and organizational policies
