Role OverviewJoin Our Team as a Driver. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and security throughout the journey.
What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include: transporting new admissions from hospitals to Elderwood facilities or other care centers, safely driving medically stable residents to medical appointments and treatment locations, and assisting with loading and unloading residents.

Requirements
- Ability to use hands and arms in repeated motions
- Ability to perform pre and post trip inspection duties
- Ability to drive and work in all conditions
- Ability to carry and load baggage and medical equipment
- Ability to physically load wheelchair clients and properly operate safety equipment
- Possession and maintenance of a medical certification card
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Vision requirements include ability to see up close, at a distance, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus
- Ability to move and walk quickly and steadily in an emergency situation
- Ability to assist with wheelchair transport
- Ability to apply/utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Comply at all times with the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws
- Ensure passengers are safely assisted and secured in the vehicle before departing for destination
- Maintain a clean, neat appearance as described in dress code for
- Attends facility meetings, staff meetings, and required or preferred in-services
