Role OverviewThe Driver Warehouse Worker is responsible for driving and warehouse duties. The role involves delivering and picking up cargo, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the company. The worker will also perform material receiving, order processing, and product packaging for shipment. The position is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position due to the work environment and equipment utilized by staff.
What You Will Do
Deliver and pick up cargo, assist in loading cargo, conduct pre-trip inspections, and complete paperwork. Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing inventory. Unload and/or assist in unloading cargo at customer locations. Collect COD payments as required.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a valid NYS Drivers' License in good standing, a Non-CDL Medical Card, and registration on FMCSA Clearinghouse. They will also have competent driving skills, one year of driving experience, and knowledge of vehicles and their parts. The candidate should be able to operate material handling equipment and have demonstrated computer skills in the use of the company ERP System.
Requirements
- Valid NYS Drivers' License in good standing
- Non-CDL Medical Card
- Registration on FMCSA Clearinghouse
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent
- One year of driving experience
- Knowledge of vehicles and their parts
- Mathematical ability to sort, check, count, measure, and verify numbers and/or product shipped or received
- Demonstrated computer skills in the use of the company ERP System
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- Ability to read and write English
- Good communication skills
