Role OverviewJoin BuildAbility as a Mentor to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in reaching their goals. The role involves providing one-on-one skills training, advocating for participants' inclusion in the community, and empowering them to exercise their rights. The team serves adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community to help increase or maintain their independence.
What You Will Do
Assist participants with tasks such as budgeting, meal planning, hygiene practices, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Provide opportunities for socialization/interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation/coping techniques. Use BuildAbility's digital program to log the individual's progress and performance.

Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or GED
- DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance
- Valid California Driver's License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
- Willing to travel up to 75%
- Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses or accommodation request
