Early Childhood Learning Director & Lead Teacher

This part-time position is primarily a classroom-based role, with approximately 80-90% of the time spent working directly with children as the Lead Teacher in the Preschool classroom. The role involves administrative and leadership responsibilities, which are completed in short blocks throughout the day or outside of direct classroom time. The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood professional who enjoys teaching, leading by example in the classroom, and contributing to program quality in a supportive, team-based environment.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include serving as Lead Teacher in the Preschool classroom, working directly with children, planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, promoting positive adult-child interactions, conducting ongoing child observations and developmental assessments, and maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom environment. Additionally, the role involves maintaining regular communication with families, participating in parent-teacher conferences, and assisting with enrollment efforts, open houses, and community outreach.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (12+ credits in early childhood, child development, or related field) plus 1 year teaching and 1 year supervisory experience
• NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential plus 1 year teaching and 1 year supervisory experience
• Associate's degree in early childhood (or related field) with plan toward bachelor's or administrator credential plus 2 years teaching and 2 years supervisory experience
• CDA or OCFS-recognized credential with plan of study plus 2 years teaching and 2 years supervisory experience
