Role OverviewThe Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes, under the supervision of the school principal. The teacher will plan and implement instructional methods, evaluate pupil progress, and maintain accurate records. The teacher will also establish and maintain reasonable rules of conduct within the classroom and on school grounds.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Early Childhood Teacher include instructional planning, implementing teaching methods, evaluating pupil progress, and maintaining accurate records. The teacher will also participate in programs to improve student attendance and promote anti-vandalism programs.

Requirements
- Successful completion of all student teaching requirements as well as all course work required to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education
- Possession of a valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS))
- Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements
- Knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of teaching
- Knowledge of classroom and behavior management techniques
