Job Description
The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking an Economist II to perform complex economic work in the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) unit of the Labor Market Information (LMI) Department in Austin. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and adapt to shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with courses in economics, statistics, mathematics, business, or public administration.
  • One year of experience in economic research or statistical or analytical work.
  • Skill in/knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite software (Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of LMI programs, products, and services.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Excellent Excel skills.
