Role Overview

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking an Economist I to perform routine economics work in the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) unit. The selected candidate will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of critical labor market data. The ideal candidate works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with an emphasis on excellence and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

The Economist I performs routine economics work, including conducting economic analyses, preparing reports, collecting and processing employment, wage, and business information, and validating data through research and analysis.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with courses in economics, statistics, mathematics, business, or public administration
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Skill in/knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Knowledge of LMI programs, products, and services
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Six months of full-time experience in economic research or statistical or analytical work
