Requirements

  • Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Ensures that patients are made aware of hospital policies and procedures, given privacy rights and Patient Bill of Rights
  • Inputs information in EMR and completes appropriate forms, logging them into the EMR
  • Performs verification of health insurance benefits, conditions and requirements
  • Ensures consents are completed and witnessed appropriately and in accordance with Medical Center policies
  • Provides transportation vouchers and/or assistance upon discharge
  • Acts as leader of the unit in absence of ED management for escalated concerns
  • Admits, discharges and transfers patients to and from units such as Emergency Room, Skilled Nursing Facility, Psychiatric Services, SDS, etc.
