Role Overview

Under direct supervision, the Educational Paraprofessional provides staff support in an educational environment, with emphasis on providing bilingual communication support to teachers, staff, and students. Employees in this classification interpret and translate classroom assignments, parent and student communications, and other school activities to support comprehension and transition for students for whom English is a secondary language.

What You Will Do

Provides bilingual communication support to teachers, staff, and students through interpreting and translating data and information. Assists students individually for whom English is a second language in a manner to support comprehension and transition into an English speaking environment.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated written and oral linguistic skills in English and in a minimum of one target language (Spanish, French, Creole, etc.), with ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend to the needs of school-age children.

Requirements
