Role Overview

The EEO Attorney Investigator will conduct investigations into employee complaints of discrimination and/or harassment, and respond to requests for reasonable accommodations. The selected candidate will analyze, evaluate, and conduct fact-finding investigations, perform EEO legal work, and provide advice on EEO legal matters.

What You Will Do

The primary function of the EEO Attorney Investigator will be to analyze, evaluate, and conduct fact-finding investigations concerning complaints of discrimination filed by employees, perform EEO legal work, and interview charging parties, witnesses, and respondents to obtain facts relevant to charges of discriminatory employment practices.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Department and City's EEO policy, and will be able to engage in activities such as writing investigative plans and reports, outlining case questions, and gathering supporting documents.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar
  • Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
  • One year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment
  • Two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment
