Job Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking an EHS Audit Specialist to support the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) directorate in reviewing and auditing the EHS performance of projects and contractors. The selected candidate will work with an outside EHS auditor, ensuring the scheduling of audits, completion and receipt of audit documents, and communication of findings to project sites.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration
  • One year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, and an ability to be flexible in assignment of work responsibilities
  • Understanding of ISO-style auditing
  • Understanding of environmental, health and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License in the State of New York
  • Critical thinking skills and effective independent data analysis
