Job Description
The EKG Technician 1 PRN Premium will provide continuous observation of monitored ECG rhythms for patients on telemetry, report pertinent information to nursing personnel, and perform various technical tasks.
Requirements
Keeps unit stocked of supplies
Monitors ECG throughout patient's placement on telemetry
Documents rhythm strips in patient's chart
Accurately receives, places, and transfers phone calls
Completes competencies of Telemetry/ECG tech
Edits electrocardiograms through EKG computer
Posts edited EKGs on patient chart
Maintains equipment on every shift
Accurately checks Cardiology tasks in Cerner
Troubleshoots monitoring and cardiology equipment
Notifies nurse for observed changes in patients monitored heart rate, rhythm, or patterns
