Role OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Designer to support a major upgrade project at a large-scale scientific research facility. In this role, you'll develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, models, and supporting documentation that translate engineering concepts into manufacturable products supporting engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and installation activities for a cutting-edge accelerator upgrade.
What You Will Do
Create and maintain electrical models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts using approved CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, KiCad, or similar). Review and revise designs based on engineering feedback, design reviews, and approved engineering changes.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This is a hands-on, on-site position working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, project managers, and other technical staff. You'll collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet technical requirements and integrate with applicable product assemblies.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, or equivalent software
- Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing-ready electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and wire/cable schedules
- Experience developing and maintaining revision-controlled engineering documentation within a PLM or PDM system
- Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical components, schematic development, and wiring practices
- Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes relevant to electrical design activities
