Role Overview

As an Electrical Engineer at Cleveland-Cliffs, you will be an integral part of the autonomous work teams that make up production and maintenance organizations. The individual at this level is a seasoned electrical engineering professional who demonstrates a broad grasp of the technical and administrative aspects of electrical engineering techniques and principles.

What You Will Do

Develop solutions and implement projects that improve the process and focus on providing electrical and programming logic expertise. Diagnose and troubleshoot programming, electrical and process issues.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must be able to create and modify programming logic systems and code to support and improve the process. Must have the ability to lead and/or monitor the electrical work of outside contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.E.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of DC and AC drives troubleshooting and setup.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC and HMI setup and programming
  • Working knowledge of tuning and calibration of PID loops and controls.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution equipment.
  • Familiarity with DC and AC motors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex process problems.
  • Ability to self-learn new hardware/software platforms.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-level organization.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, computer skills and data analysis skills.
