Job Description
The Electrical Inspector II position at North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) involves on-site electrical inspections of complex municipal construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes. This role requires a high school diploma, five years of electrical inspection experience, and a Texas Journeymen Electrician license. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily on-site oversight, inspection, and verification of electrical installations, as well as testing and witnessing of equipment. The role also involves maintaining detailed reports, communicating with project managers and engineers, and mentoring junior inspectors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Five years of electrical inspection experience, or three years of Industrial, Water, or Wastewater electrical experience
  • Texas Journeymen Electrician license
  • Proficient with relevant codes and standards, such as AREMA C&S Manual, NFPA 70, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NESC
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical and utility drawings and schematics
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and related safety regulations
  • Proficient in identifying non-compliance issues in electrical installations and the ability to recommend practical solutions
  • Knowledge of medium voltage (1000V and up) electrical systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Construction Management Software
