Electrical Power Systems Project Manager

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for repeat work and expanded services. Support business development activities including proposal preparation, client relationship management, project pursuits, and identification of repeat work opportunities. Work safely and follow customer and NTH safety programs in industrial, utility, and construction field environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year university.
• Michigan P.E. License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Ability and desire to manage projects and own outcomes.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical power, utility, renewable energy, industrial, or construction-related engineering fields.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering or construction projects.
• Experience working directly with utility, municipal, industrial, or EPC clients.
• Experience preparing engineering proposals, fee estimates, schedules, or budgets.
• Experience with project financial management, forecasting, and invoicing.
• Ability to work independently and safely in utility, industrial, and construction environments.
• Ability to lead, review, and contribute to the development of electrical design deliverables including one-lines, schematics, grounding, equipment layouts, and engineering studies.
• Ability to read, understand, review, and provide technical direction for complex electrical drawings including one-lines, 3-lines, control schematics, grounding plans, and equipment layouts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians.
• Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while coordinating engineering, design, and project execution activities.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the lower peninsula of Michigan.
