Role OverviewThe Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking an Electrician 2 to work under direction and require thorough knowledge of the electrician trade. The role involves leading a team of lower-level electricians and/or crew and/or incarcerated individuals in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment. The Electrician 2 will also be responsible for determining and completing materials needed, cost estimates, and submitting requests to purchase, as well as maintaining tool counts and performing other maintenance and miscellaneous duties.
What You Will Do
The Electrician 2 will install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment, including motors, appliances, fans, transformers, heating and cooling equipment, fire and other alarm/security systems, elevators, and switches. They will also perform other maintenance and miscellaneous duties, such as performing semi-skilled carpentry, painting, electrical, sheet metal, HVAC, and ensuring compliance with security regulations.

Requirements
- 18 months of training or 18 months of verifiable experience in electrical work under the supervision of an experienced electrician
- 6 months of experience as an Electrician 1
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and in reading and writing common English vocabulary
