In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for routine EEG, simple studies and the associated administrative paperwork. Under close supervision of a physician or a more senior technologist may perform critical or complex studies for immediate diagnosis as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs routine EEG studies. Adheres to laboratory guidelines for impedance testing and montage selection.
- Collects information on the patient’s history, current medications, and a description of current seizures for the technical report.
- Completes appropriate paperwork for each patient including those required for department statistical and billing purposes. Ensure reports are accurate and prepared timely for the physician to review.
- Reviews studies performed with supervising physician on a regular basis.
- Participates in conferences related to EEG in the department.
- Cleans electrodes and maintains equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a High School, required. Current and valid BLS or CPR Certification is required. ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) EEG certification within 5 years of hire for all hires on or after 1/1/16. 1 year performing EEG studies OR completion of an accredited or formalized program OR a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Strong communication skills are required.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
