Role Overview

The Electronics Technician I specializes in ground-based electronic systems, working under direct supervision to perform various tasks such as installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electronic equipment. The role involves operating and maintaining electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, and other related devices. The technician will apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems and diagnose equipment malfunctions.

What You Will Do

Perform work on various types of electronic equipment, operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, and troubleshoot to the component level to make needed repairs. The technician will also manipulate computer keyboards, view and interpret computer displays, and perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training
  • Basic knowledge of college math, DC and AC electronics, digital logic, solid-state devices, and circuits
  • Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems
  • Basic troubleshooting and soldering skills
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
