Role OverviewThe Elementary School Dean is responsible for overseeing all academic and instructional aspects of running a school, including student data, instruction, curriculum, assessment, professional development, teacher evaluations, and socio-emotional learning. The Dean will lead and support faculty and students, ensuring high standards of instructional service and compliance with charter policies.
What You Will Do
The Dean will oversee instructional programs, manage operations and personnel, and ensure the success of all charter activities. This includes creating, monitoring, and maintaining systems to enhance organizational efficiency and thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in teaching, coaching, and leadership roles, preferably in urban schools and/or communities. A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a Master's Degree preferred.
Requirements
- 5 years teaching and working in classrooms and coaching teachers
- Experience as a Dean or equivalent leadership role
- Experience at a high-performing charter school
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
- Fingerprint clearance through New York State Education Department
