Job Description
The Eligibility Specialist I will determine the eligibility of applicants and recipients for government assistance programs, process data from electronic sources, and enter information into a computer-based eligibility system under state and federal requirements. The position requires strong customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in computer-based systems.

Requirements

  • Two years or more of customer service, interviewing, recruiting, investigating, accounting, processing insurance policies, or determining eligibility
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours
  • Ability to attend an 8-12 week mandatory training course
  • Typing speed and accuracy, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to learn and apply new information
