Role Overview

This is an opportunity to join the Receiver, Exciter, & Back End Processing Department as an Embedded Software Engineer. The department's primary goal is to design, develop, and support land and sea-based radar systems. The Embedded Software Engineer will develop C++, Python, or Matlab implementations of signal processing algorithms or time critical control functions involved in direct control of sensor systems running on Linux or VxWorks. The engineer will maintain legacy sensor software systems, assist in developing architecture and design of high throughput/high performance computing platforms utilizing general purpose CPUs and GPUs, and work with systems, hardware, and software engineers to understand end-user requirements and apply implementation on new and established processing platforms.

What You Will Do

Develop robust, scalable, performance driven software to be deployed on large scale computing systems, improve code quality by supporting software integration, verification and performing code reviews, and maintain legacy sensor software systems.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major, experience in C++ software development, preferably in Linux environments, and knowledge of the DSP/Radar domain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major
  • Experience in C++ software development, preferably in Linux environments
  • Knowledge of the DSP/Radar domain
  • Working understanding of parallelism and concurrency as applied to algorithm implementation on shared memory and distributed systems
  • Experience in Software Tools: Git, CMake, GoogleTest, debugger, profiler, Jenkins
  • Continuous integration and test experience in a hardware/software laboratory environment
