Job Description
The Emergency Response Call Intake Specialist internship program is designed for students interested in maintaining a sustainable environment. The intern will be responsible for assisting the team with answering and triaging incoming calls related to environmental emergencies and incidents.
Requirements
Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Assist with answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls in a professional and timely manner
Help document incident details accurately in internal systems (ALERT)
Support routing calls to the appropriate team based on urgency and type of event
Help track active calls and provide updates until they are handed off to the response team
Gather key information from callers (location, incident details, materials involved, safety concerns)
Maintain clear communication logs and assist with required documentation
Communicate with clients and internal teams to help keep everyone informed
Return calls, emails, and messages promptly to support timely service
Monitor ongoing situations and assist with sharing updates as needed
Follow company guidelines to maintain professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
Attend Networking events within the internship program
Complete a final project presentation
