Job Description
The Emergency Response Call Intake Specialist internship program is designed for students interested in maintaining a sustainable environment. The intern will be responsible for assisting the team with answering and triaging incoming calls related to environmental emergencies and incidents.

Requirements

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Assist with answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Help document incident details accurately in internal systems (ALERT)
  • Support routing calls to the appropriate team based on urgency and type of event
  • Help track active calls and provide updates until they are handed off to the response team
  • Gather key information from callers (location, incident details, materials involved, safety concerns)
  • Maintain clear communication logs and assist with required documentation
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to help keep everyone informed
  • Return calls, emails, and messages promptly to support timely service
  • Monitor ongoing situations and assist with sharing updates as needed
  • Follow company guidelines to maintain professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Attend Networking events within the internship program
  • Complete a final project presentation
