Role Overview

The Employee DOT Local Driver drives a commercial motor vehicle to transport and deliver freight, maintaining contact with dispatch or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations. The driver must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with management, clients, employees, the general public, and law enforcement. The driver must also maintain electronic driver logs compliant with state and federal regulations and perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

What You Will Do

The driver will drive up to 11 hours per day and be on duty up to 14 hours per day when required. The driver will also assist in loading and unloading the truck manually if required. The driver must be willing to transport interstate or intrastate freight as dispatched.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have one year or greater previous driving experience in the type of equipment to be operated and a valid Class A CDL License with current medical card certification. The candidate must also be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all DOT Medical Card requirements.

Requirements

  • one year or greater previous driving experience in the type of equipment to be operated
  • a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • a valid Class A CDL License with current medical card certification
  • not have previous 3-year employer history of failed or refused drug/alcohol tests
  • not be under FMCSA drug/alcohol follow-up testing requirements related to any SAP process
