Role OverviewThe Employment Coordinator provides job placement services, on-site skills training, and other support services to individuals in the Employment Services and Community Day Services Programs. This role requires scheduling flexibility, Monday through Sunday, and involves working with adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. The coordinator must possess a valid IL Driver's license, a good driving record, and sufficient strength, agility, and sensory acuity to support program participants safely and effectively. The coordinator will work with individuals, guardians/caregivers, and community partners to plan, coordinate, and schedule job development activities.
What You Will Do
The Employment Coordinator will provide technical assistance to employers, recommend accommodations/adaptations in the work environment, and provide on-site skills training. The coordinator will also maintain regular contact with individuals and employers, provide transportation and training for supported individuals, and keep manager informed of all job-related activities. Additionally, the coordinator will participate in developing job development service plans, generate job leads, assist with applying and interviewing, and educate/train employers about strategies to train supported individuals.

Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Valid IL Driver's license
- Good driving record (fewer than 2 accidents/moving violations in last 5 years)
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, business, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with adults with autism and intellectual disabilities is highly desired
