Job Description
Role Overview

The Employment Specialist supports adults with developmental disabilities in finding and maintaining employment in the community. They work with individuals, employers, and support teams to ensure employment success and provide vocational support and supervision. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a positive attitude.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include identifying job opportunities, developing service plans, training employers, and providing on-site job training and support. The Employment Specialist will also communicate with guardians, care providers, and other stakeholders to ensure employment success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related field
  • Ability to obtain Employment Outcomes Professional certificate
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities or experience in employment rehabilitation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to get along with others and recognize the need for diversity and flexibility
  • Must pass the criminal background check by the Oregon Background Check Unit (BCU)
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license and proof of personal automobile insurance
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must complete 12 hours of job-related in-service training annually
