Job Description
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the largest public housing authority in North America, serving approximately 3.9% of NYC's population. This role, as an Emergency Management Planning Associate, supports NYCHA's emergency management and services department by assisting in the comprehensive emergency management plan, preparing for large-scale events, and collaborating with other departments and stakeholders. The position offers opportunities for development, both from within and within the department.

Requirements

  • Assist the Planning Coordinator with maintaining the Emergency Management Plan.
  • Create and maintain templates, protocols, and procedures related to emergency preparedness and response.
  • Coordinate information between NYCHA departments and relevant partners.
  • Assist in test, training, and exercise planning for the Emergency Management Plan.
  • Support emergency response efforts coordinated by EMSD.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments, city agencies, and residents.
