Role Overview

The Enforcement Motor Vehicle Investigator performs complex investigative work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, Enforcement Division (ENF), Motor Vehicle Investigations. This position processes, investigates and resolves complaints and/or inquiries regarding business activities regulated by the Department. Work requires contact with high-level executives, attorneys, law enforcement, governmental officials and private entities. Work requires extensive travel.

What You Will Do

Reviews and evaluates consumer complaints, conducts field investigations, documents observations/findings, prepares and completes investigative reports, and coordinates with regulated businesses and consumers.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The selected candidate must reside within a 1.5-hour commute from the assigned location and be able to travel 50% of the time, including overnight travel. The position requires a valid Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Four (4) years progressively responsible experience in criminal or regulatory enforcement investigative work
  • Valid Class C driver's license
  • Satisfactory driving record
