Role Overview

This is an intermediate/advanced level engineering position responsible for managing work in engineering areas of specialization, with general or limited supervision. The person in this position will work as part of a project team to develop detailed project scopes, layouts of control equipment enclosures, and detailed drawings and plans required for construction of specific substation projects.

What You Will Do

Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of well-defined problems in area of expertise. Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of moderate scope and complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Protection and Control (P&C) engineering experience
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles
  • Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
  • Understanding of basic principles of project management
  • Experience in the utility industry
