Job Description
Mechanical Engineer 1 position available at Newport News Shipbuilding. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Supports engineering efforts associated with the inactivation and disposal of CVN68 Class aircraft carriers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, piping and mechanical systems, working to established specifications and standards
  • Basic knowledge and prior experience with 3-D modeling and drafting programs, such as AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
