Job Description
The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is seeking an Engineer Trainee vacancy in the Field Enforcement Unit of the Bureau of Air Management’s Enforcement Division located in Hartford, CT. The position offers a unique opportunity to join a team committed to the regulatory enforcement of state and federal air quality requirements at stationary air pollution sources throughout the state.

Requirements

  • Recent graduates and future May 2026 graduates with degrees in applied mathematics, physical or biological sciences, engineering, meteorology, public health, or statistics are encouraged to apply!
  • Must have basic knowledge of engineering theories, principles, and methods
  • Must have skill in the use of drafting and calculating instruments
  • Must have ability to perform mathematical computations, making neat and accurate drawings and preparing minor design and structural details
  • Must have ability to utilize computer software
