Role Overview

The TxDOT Fort Worth District is looking for motivated individuals to join our Engineering Assistant Program and begin building a meaningful career in transportation engineering. The program provides hands-on experience in key areas such as construction, roadway design, and maintenance while helping Engineering Assistants develop the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a Professional Engineer license.

What You Will Do

Perform engineering work, including job rotation, training, and continuing education in design, construction, construction inspection, maintenance, surveying, environmental, and/or transportation operations-related activities. Assist during emergencies and inclement weather, and perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS
  • Valid driver's license
  • TX Engineer In Training Certificate (for Engineering Assistant II)
  • Pass the FE (for preferred qualification)
