Role Overview

The Engineering Technician II reports to the Program Manager and will perform assignments that directly and indirectly support system installation and integration on board US Coast Guard Boats and Cutters. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed.

What You Will Do

Performs installation/removal/upgrades for electrical/electronic/C4I tasks, performs system testing, operates tools to aid in fabricating, installing, removing, and upgrading tasks, and uses drawings, technical manuals, instructions, standards, and specifications to perform system installation/removal/upgrade activities.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen and possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET clearance
  • High School diploma, 2 years’ experience in US Coast Guard or US Navy C4I system installation integration support, US Coast Guard preferred
  • NavSea Cableway and/or connector certification are desired but not required
  • Experience with Cable Fabrication (Multi-pin, RF, Network, Power, Fiber, Mil-spec, or serial cable assemblies)
