Job Description
The Maryland Office of the Public Defender (MOPD) is seeking entry-level attorneys to serve as Assistant Public Defenders in the Lower Eastern Shore area, which serves Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, and Somerset Counties. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, a commitment to social justice, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Represent clients in all stages of their criminal case
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft and prepare reports, memoranda, briefs, motions, and correspondence
  • Effectively communicate with clients, team members, colleagues, and service providers
