The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Environmental Control and Thermal Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to support development, design, testing, and delivery of the Core Stage on the Space Launch System (SLS) program in Huntsville, AL. Position Responsibilities: Create or modify thermal math models to support system analysis Run analytical cases to determine environments or temperatures of various components or structures of the SLS upper stage vehicle Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Propulsion and Stress to ensure requirements are met and issues are resolved Develop skills and grow into an independent contributor role with increasing technical complexity Take on broader ownership of work including design build supply chain production support and customer support Work on exciting challenges within a collaborative and supportive team environment Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Thermal Analysis software such Thermal Desktop) Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics Experience with aerospace or defense industry standards and practices Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or course work in thermal design and analysis Experience or course work with thermal design and modeling of aerospace platforms Experience or course work with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, SpaceClaim or similar tools Experience or course work working with space programs, NASA programs preferred Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
