Job Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. The Environmental Engineer 3 position performs civil engineering work in the field and office, receives training in civil engineering, and provides direction and engineering oversight for review of stormwater pollution prevention plans.

Requirements

  • Valid New York State Professional Engineer License
  • Four years of full-time experience in environmental engineering
  • Master's degree in environmental engineering from an accredited college will be accepted as equivalent to one year of the full-time experience in environmental engineering
  • At least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project
