Role Overview

As an Environmental Project Planner with TxDOT, you will balance the needs of the growing region with the duty to protect our communities and local resources. This office-based position also offers opportunities for occasional field work and collaboration with the community through public meetings.

What You Will Do

The environmental analysis would be in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other state and national rules/regulations. You will oversee the environmental analysis process for transportation projects in the Houston area, coordinate with engineers, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Candidates with professional or educational experience with NEPA are preferred. This position demands excellent communication, organizational, and scheduling skills. You will work closely with inner agency staff, consultants, and stakeholder partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
  • Valid driver's license
  • Related experience in environmental, planning, project management or other related fields may be substituted for education
