Role Overview

As an Environmental Specialist 2, you will review and prepare environmental permits, documents, and mitigation plans for transportation projects. You will coordinate with regulatory agencies, ODOT staff, districts, and consultants to support project compliance. You will conduct and assist with ecological field investigations, data collection, analysis, and environmental reporting. You will provide technical assistance, guidance, and recommendations related to ecological resources and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • 12 months of experience as Environmental Specialist 1
  • 4 years of training or experience in a position involving geology or hydrology, engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, and/or other comparable physical or health science field
  • baccalaureate degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, earth science, and/or urban and regional planning, geology, or other comparable physical or health science field
  • positions involved in providing financial, technical, and administrative assistance for planning, design, and implementation of environmental infrastructure and pollution abatement projects
  • completion of undergraduate core coursework in business/public administration, public relations/marketing, political science, or communications
